We reported earlier about Apple’s plan to build a 2.8 million square-foot spaceship alike circular office building in Cupertino, California. It was mentioned that if Apple receives all the necessary approvals, then this futuristic building might be ready for a big opening sometime in 2015. But Apple has revealed that the construction of its spaceship-like campus won’t be completed until mid-2016.
Steve Jobs, late co-founder of Apple, dreamed of this unique campus and revealed the plan in June 2011. For more than a year, Apple prepared the design of its gorgeous looking office and submitted the project on November 14, 2012 to the Cupertino City Council for approval. It is now waiting for the approval, which won’t get an approval before first quarter of 2013. Hence, it won’t be possible for Apple to start work until 2014.
David Brandt, Cupertino’s city manager said, “They could conceivably break ground in 2013, but only if everything goes smoothly. The project is running a little bit slow.”
Understanding the situation Apple has acknowledged that the completion of its spaceship alike offices will be delayed. Most probably, it will be completed in 2016. However, if you are interested to know the details Apple’s spaceship alike office, you can find those here.

Looks like the City is retaliating for Jobs playing hard ball with them before, slowing them down, maybe hoping to annoy them into sharing some more of their cash hoard with Cupertino?
Not that I care either way, I have a purely architectural interest in seeing the pictures when its done.
