These two key positions within the company were held by Appleton and at his demise, Micron has to make a quick decision for credible alternatives. As it is, Micron has now named D. Mark Durcan as it’s new CEO.

“Steve’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idaho community and the technology industry at large.”
However, like any professional entity, Micron Tech was quick to look for alternate leadership and was quicker in coming up with one. The company has now named Durcan as the CEO and Robert E. Switz as chairman.Sales executive Mark W. Adams has been named the president. What remains to be seen is that whether or not these administrative shifts will bear any significant affect upon the performance of the company.
