Sadly, Samsung Will Not Have A Flamboyant Presence At MWC

Despite expectations, the Sout Korean tech giant Samsung will have a shy presence at this year’s edition of Mobile World Congress, to be hosted in Barcelona in a couple of weeks. Although previously Samsung accustomed its fans and journalists alike with flashy events and significant product releases, this time Samsung announced in a mail to PC Mag that the tech writers should not expect a press conference.

If last year Samsung took the opportunity of the event to introduce the impressive Galaxy S II, which soon became the smartphone market’s favorite. The year before, Samsung organizes a flamboyant show when the company released the Bada OS. Maybe Bada was not as successful as Galaxy S II but apparently everyone present at 2010 World Mobile Congress still remembers the flying dancers that preceded the presentation.

Now the South Korean tech giant probably realized it cannot beat those performances, as no comparable high end device is ready yet. Samsung announced that Galaxy S III would be ready for a release sometimes later this year. Also, Samsung is expected to introduce to the market a new tablet powered by a new Exynos 5250 processor, believed to be faster than the current market standards.

In addition, Bada is going to turn into Tizen and with the transformation will come a series of enhancements. “Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012,” said one company official but everyone could only speculate about the new products. Anyway without a press release scheduled one can only assume that Samsung will not unveil a revolutionary product.
