Sony came to the first exhibition that allows the major players in the technology field to show off the next generation gadgets with the specific purpose of letting everyone know about the company’s plans to make a splash on TV sets market. The 55 inch Crystal LED display prototype announcing this is “industry first full HD self-emitting display using LEDs as a light source,” as the company official statement reads.
One of the features that impressed visitors was the ability to display crystal clear images even from 90 degree angles, regardless of the ambient light. The display shows beautiful images with vibrant colors in bright light of Sony booth as well as in the corners with dimmed light. This display is reportedly improving the light use with the light source mounted on the front of the television.
However, Sony’s Crystal LED Display comes with a warning as Sony CEO Howard Stringer lets the visitors at Sony booth know: “Your eyes will pop, your mouths will water, you’ll tell your friends ‘I have seen the future, and it’s a Sony'”
With this prototype Sony only teased the consumers, the technology journalists and their readers. The product is not yet ready for the release and the date when the 55 inch Crystal LED display will hit the market was not announced yet.
