While Apple prepared for the launch of its next iPhone, which is expected some time later this year, the rest of the world is speculating about the specs, size and the release date of the device. Most analysts have so far pinned the possible launch of the device in October, since iPhone 4S was also launched in October last year. However, now an analyst states that Apple is very likely to go for a September launch.
This bit of news has been divulged by Brian White, who is an analyst with Topeka Capital Markets. White says that he has been speaking with his contact in Apple’s supply chain. He is currently in Taipei for an event and is taking the chance to know from his sources what plans Apple have with its next iPhone.
According to White, he has discussed this with a number of people in the Apple’s supply chain in Taiwan. And many have said that Apple will most probably go with an aluminum body option for the next iPhone, with the unibody aluminum casing being manufactured by Foxconn.
Moreover, these sources also told White that Apple is gearing up for a rather exciting ‘September.’ This can very well mean that Apple may launch its next iPhone in September and successfully surprise the world, yet again. White is of the opinion that Apple may also launch an iPad ‘mini’ during the month of September, alongside iPhone.
The iPad mini, which has been talked about by a lot of analysts for quite some time, is said to have a 7.85-inch form factor and a 1024 x 768 pixel screen. Smaller tablets have been gaining traction in the tablet market for some time and though they are still wildly successful, Apple may want to cash in on this niche too.
