CyanogenMod 9 To Bring Android Ice Cream Sandwich To HP Touchpad

Apparently, the not so popular TouchPad from HP could get a boost in reputation very soon, as a new leaked video proves. One desire most of HP TouchPad owners confess is to replace the infamous webOS with Android. The independent developer who manages to port successfully the latest version of Google’s operating system to the $99 tablet would really get the community’s respect and apparently, someone is close to the target.

The latest attempt to port Android 4.0 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich to HP TouchPad comes from CyanogenMod 9. The efforts in this direction are going well as a demo video reveals. The HP TouchPad used for tests is running on the latest Android and we can see the user interface and even a few moves in Angry Birds. However, this is still a quick sneak peak. There is still some work to be done before the public release. Apparently, the video playback needs more attention and the camera performance is also under the desired target.

Cyanogenmod team is known for bringing Android versions to different tablets and smartphones. Koushik Dutta, one team member, announced recently that there are more than one million users interested in downloading Cyanogenmod solutions.
