As we draw towards the close of the summer, we are inching towards the next iPhone which Apple is expected to launch later this year. AllThingsD has now claimed that the company will be lifting the wraps off the upcoming iPhone 5S on September 10.
For now, it isn’t entirely clear exactly what the new iPhone will be called. Most analysts have claimed that Apple may end up calling it iPhone 5S. The expected specs of the handset include a ramped up processor, improved battery life to go with it and a design which will be more or less the same as the current iPhone 5.
However, the most significant upgrades in the new handset will be in the software part. Apple will be shipping out the new iOS 7 with the new handset. And given the design overhaul in the new iOS, we will get to see an entirely revamped interface design in the new iPhone.
There is also the possibility that Apple may ship out fingerprint sensor technology in the new iPhone. This, many have stated, could be used by the company to provide a fool-proof screenlock in the new handset.
AllThingsD has claimed, citing anonymous sources, that Apple will be lifting the wraps off its new handset come September 10. However, it isn’t clear whether or not Apple will also announce the expected, cheaper version of iPhone 5S at the same event. Either way, we now have to wait less than a month to see exactly Apple has been working on.
