Dev team has just release redsn0w 0.96rc13 – untethered iOS 4.3.2 jailbreak. It is an improvement over an earlier hack that managed a tethered jailbreak of some iOS 4.3.2 devices — but even the updated copy of redsn0w (version 0.96rc13) made available today does not yet work with the iPhone 4 or the iPad 2, though a fix is pending for the iPhone 4 and the group has indicated that it will update their utility Pwnage Tool once that fix becomes available.
Requirements:
* Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC13 (Windows/Mac)
* iOS 4.3.2 firmware
* iTunes 10.2.2
The steps are as follows:
Step 1: Download the Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC13 and iOS 4.3.2 and save both of them to the desktop. Extract the Redsn0w application in a folder on the desktop.
Step 2: Now run RedSn0w application from there that was extracted earlier.
Step 3: Once RedSn0w appears click the Browse button. Then browse the iOS 4.3.2 stock FW that downloaded in Step 1 and open it.
Step 4: Once the firmware has been verified click the Next button to continue.
Step 5: RedSn0w will now prepare the jailbreak data.
Step 6: From this window you can select the jailbreak options you would like.
– Make sure Cydia is selected.
– Notice that RedSn0w can Enable multitasking (iPhone 3G only, no display of this option on 3GS needed!). If you do not need multitasking we would recommend deselecting it as it makes your iPhone 3G run very slow.
Don’t forget to check Install iPad Baseband to update your baseband to the 06.15 iPad version for unlock (in case you want to unlock your iPhone 3GS later on). Click Yes when prompted to confirm. Now click the Next button to continue
Step 7: Now plug your iPhone into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button.
Step 8: RedSn0w will now guide you through the steps to get into DFU mode. Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds. Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device.
Step 9: RedSn0w will then do it’s processing and you will be notified when RedSn0w it is done. Click the Finish button. When your iPhone finishes rebooting it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SpringBoard!
That’s it.
