AIR, Adobe’s Multi-Platform Software for Smartphones

Adobe is launching AIR, the cross-platform software that can enable an app to run on any operating system, provided the operating system supports AIR. Adobe is hoping this will catch on in the industry. So far, Google’s Android is supporting AIR, but other platforms, including WebOS, BlackBerrry and Windows Mobile will soon be supporting it.

People who have tested it’s performance so far, such as streaming video from a PC, are pretty impressed with the results. If this will catch on, only time will tell.
