Leaked Screenshots Of Nokia Carla OS Surface

Nokia’s Symbian platform is very widely-used despite the fact that the company is already shipping out Lumia smartphones and has plans of replacing Symbian with later releases. Naturally, Nokia keeps shipping out updates and support for the Symbian platform. Nokia released Nokia Belle a while ago and now, images of Nokia Carla, apparently the next update for Symbian, have now surfaced. Interestingly, these images depict a number of new features that may come to the Symbian platform soon.

A number of new features are part of this Carla OS that is being touted, though not officially, as being the next build for the Symbian platform. For instance, the on-screen keyboard has been changed to look a lot like what we have seen on a Windows Phone. There’s also a swipe-to-unlock feature and an updated, more sleek and trendy user interface for Symbian devices.

The music players also has an all new look. According to the ‘source’ that has leaked the images of Carla OS, we can expect the update to arrive on Nokia 700, 701, 603 and 808 Pure-View. The bad news for the users of devices such as Nokia N8, C7, E7 and C6-01 is that, the same source claims that these devices wouldn’t be a part of this update.

While Nokia is trying to gradually replace the Symbian platform, it is good to see that the company is still taking care of all the millions of users who are still on the Symbian platform.
