Three months ago, Sony announced that it will release a 10.1-inch Xperia Tablet Z this spring. At MWC 2013, it lifted the wraps off its Xperia Tablet Z, which it claimed to be the world’s thinnest tablet. Earlier last month, Sony started taking pre-order for Xperia Tablet Z in UK. Finally, the tab has made its way to the U.S. Sony has started taking pre-order for the tablet in the States.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z has a thickness of 6.9 mm, and weighs 495 gm. It is water- and dust-resistant. Xperia Tablet Z runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and features a 10.1-inch HD LCD screen using the Mobile Bravia Engine 2 for high-quality images, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage with an SD card slot, and a 6,000mAh battery.
If you pre-order the 32GB model (White) directly from Sony web-store by May 24, you’ll receive a cradle (costs about $45) for your tablet free of charge. The 16GB model of Xperia Tablet Z is priced at $499.99 and the 32GB model costs $599.99. The Sony Xperia Tablet Z can be pre-ordered from Sony’s online store.
