Instagram Now Has More Mobile Traffic Than Twitter

Popular mobile photo-editing platform, Instagram, attracted a whopping 7.3 million daily US users to its mobile-platform application during the month of August 2012. Further down on the comScore Mobile Metrix 2.0 ratings is Twitter, who only saw 6.9 million daily US users. While briefing down the list, these are two all-time high records for the two social networks, and also the first time Instagram has passed up Twitter on the daily user rankings.

While growth between the two platforms has been staggering to say the least, Instagram has really kicked into full-gear raising their daily traffic from 886,000 to 7.3 million daily users in just six-months. Twitter saw growth of around 1.3 million daily users during that same period.

comScore found that Twitter did in-fact lead under one category: unique visitors. Throughout August Twitter attracted 29 million unique US visitors with Instagram trailing behind at 22 million. This proves that Twitter has a much less active user database when compared to Instagram.

Twitter was also crowned over Instagram under the unique visitors category on both mobile & non-mobile devices. The month of August attracted 26 million unique US visitors and 38.2 million for Twitter.
