Unlike most tech titans, Twitter has traditionally relied on more conventional mediums to make its big announcements. For instance, the micro-blogging website announced its profile page redesign at The Today Show last year. And now, we are being told that Twitter will be announcing something ‘big’ on Good Morning America tomorrow.
The revelation has been made by the official Twitter account of Good Morning America. However, Twitter itself has been fairly mum about the whole thing, so we have no idea what the company is up to.
A few recent developments suggest that Twitter may finally lift the wraps from Twitter Music at the show tomorrow. We have been hearing of a music app from the site for a while now. And since Twitter has decided to make the announcement at a TV show, it seems very probable that it will have something to do with new content.
At the same time, we can’t ignore the fact that Twitter has been trying to partner with mainstream media houses. For instance, the company is trying to ink a content-sharing deal with NBCUniversal and is exploring other similar options. So the ‘big’ announcement at the show could very well be related to it.
