Parse is a backend services provider which mobile-app makers popularly use. Facebook purchased the platform back in April, amid concerns that the acquisition may shy away all the existing users and developers. However, Parse has continued to grow at a rapid pace and has surpassed 100,000 apps.
Facebook’s primary intent in acquiring Parse was to let its developers gain greater access to the platform as well as the many apps it offered. When Facebook acquired the platform, it was speculated that the social network may attempt to assert authority over its contents and that this would trim down the customer base.
However, that hasn’t turned out to be true. Despite the acquisition, the platform continues to grow at a rapid pace. Within the last month or so, Parse has been able to add a whopping 20,000 new apps to its total portfolio, which is a very impressive feat indeed.
The CEO of Parse, Ilya Sukhar, believes that Facebook’s acquisition of the platform turned out to be a rather good thing. According to him, ever since the acquisition, developers are far more interested in Parse since they now know that the platform stands a good chance of sustenance and is not going anywhere.
Given this revelation, it is no surprise then that Parse has experienced the highest growth rate in the last month, during the entire one year of its existence so far. With 100,000 apps in its portfolio, Parse strikes an impressive pose within the apps ecosystem in the web.
