Internet has been a popular medium for launching videos. However, now, a number of short movies are also being launched on the web. The best thing about web is that based on the response and the feedback of viewers, the makers of short movies can then decide whether or not they should work further on it and make it into a full-length movie.

A recent example in this case is that of ‘Ruin.’ Ruin is basically a short video which is created entirely through computer graphics. This CG-video has a storyline based in a post-apocalyptic world where there is an abundance of nature which is untamed by any human being.

Until recently, it was not clear who actually created the movie. But now, it has been revealed that Wes Ball is the man behind the video. In fact, not only has Ball admitted to being the creator of the movie, he has also hinted that Fox will be backing the creation of the full-length movie based on this short video.

In the words of Ball, “I can now reveal it is set up with the good folks at 20th Century Fox to be developed into a full length feature.” The film will be written jointly by Ball and T.S. Nowlin and will be produced by Joseph McGinty. You can catch a glimpse of the video here:

The effects in the short video are very real like, from shadow effects to fabric physics. The storyline is also very engaging which shows a futuristic view of human society with transparent tablet computers, strange flying machines and a lot more. Needless to say, we are eagerly waiting for the short video to be converted into a entire feature film and hit the cinemas. You can watch the images below for some stunning CG effects.
