LG Confirms Launching World’s First 55-Inch Curved OLED HDTV

At CES 2013, South Korean tech giant LG showcased prototype of curved OLED HDTV and announced that this curved OLED HDTV would be arriving in the second half of 2013. The good news is LG has confirmed the release date of the world’s first 55-inch curved OLED HDTV.

The 55-inch Curved OLED HDTV weighs 17kg and it is 4.3 mm thick only. It has a carbon-fiber reinforced frame. The edges of this TV are curved towards the viewer to provide a more immersive feeling. The TV comes with a transparent glass stand.

Recently, LG has confirmed that it will release 55EA9800, the world’s first 55-inch curved OLED HDTV next month. LG will start taking pre-order for the 55-inch curved OLED HDTV from today (April 29) at more than 1,400 retail locations and the TV will cost 15 million Korean won ($13,500). The shipment of 55-inch curved OLED HDTV will start in June.
