Apple and Sprint have sent out shipping notifications for the iPhone 4S and it appears that Sprint’s might even arrive early and it iPhone 4S pre-ordered on October 7th are expected to be delivered in time for the launch day – October 14th. The shipping delays that plagued the iPad 2 when it was announced earlier this year are now hitting the iPhone 4S and AT&T sold more than 200,000 iPhone 4S during the first 12 hours of the presales online, making it the most successful launch to date……………….

T-Mobile USA announced new Android Honeycomb tablet T-Mobile USA announced two new Android Honeycomb tablets with the SpringBoard and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the T-Mobile SpringBoard is advertised as an affordable tablet, which has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 7 inch display, SD card slot, 5 megapixel rear camera and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. Look forward to HSPA+ connectivity alongside a 10.1 inch display, a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, Android 3.2 Honeycomb and both tablets have been given an availability window of in time for the holiday season with nary a price to mention………………..

Research In Motion has agreed to acquire NewBay Software for about $100 million and the company confirmed that they have a cut a deal for NewBay, but declined to talk about the price, which the story attributes to sources close to the company. It’s clear that RIM has a decent vision and setup for certain aspects of the smartphone war and it’s apparent that RIM’s move to purchase NewBay has to do with creating a cloud-based BlackBerry content service to rival that of Apple’s iCloud and Amazon’s Cloud Drive……………..

Netflix has expanded its partnership with AMC Networks to bring many more shows to its streaming service and they have inked a multiyear agreement that delivers AMC hit The Walking Dead to Netflix. Additional seasons of The Walking Dead and other shows on AMC and the Sundance Channel also will be fed to Netflix under the multiyear licensing agreement and Netflix Inc. is trying to expand its Internet video selections to counter criticism that its streaming library doesn’t contain enough compelling content……………….

UK users are waking up to a ton of new content courtesy of Google and the YouTube rental service previously only available in the U.S. and Canada. With over 1,000 titles to choose from, the service will offer 48 hour retails ranging from £2.49 to £3.49 and it’s of course available via the Movies link in the upper right of YouTube, but is also accessible through Google TV, Android tablets and certain smartphones running Honeycomb, which in short, Google has been building its movie ambitions incrementally……………………

Alien Dalvik 2.0 lets Android apps run on iOS, working towards a single standard for apps and that’s exactly what the Myriad Group has managed to do with the release of Alien Dalvik 2.0, a mobile technology that not only allows users to run Android applications on non-Android smartphone platforms, it could also see them incorporated into a number of additional devices including e-book, TVs, cars and even planes. Alien Dalvik is available on several platforms other than Android, including Nokia’s MeeGo-driven N9 smartphone and the N9 smartphone can run Android apps pretty nicely even though the performance reportedly doesn’t cut it compared to the native experience on Android-powered handsets………………..

When users attempt to do this in iOS 5 GM, a pop-up notification notes that an application (called “AirPort Utility”) is required and directs users to an iTunes link that is not yet live. Apple has noted that one of its aims in developing iOS 5 is to make iOS devices PC free and this feature obviously meant that iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners running iOS 5 could set up an AirPort station without needing to use a computer. A MacTalk forum member noticed that in the W-Fi settings of the latest beta there is a button to Manage this network that prompts you to download the app and earlier betas of iOS 5 let users set up their new AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule directly within the mobile operating system………………..

The Youtube account that will be streaming the upcoming Samsung/Google event on October 12th has accidentally slipped with posting the stream already and the title confirms that Ice Cream Sandwich launches October 12th.A funny thing happened to the folks at Android Police, the same group responsible for leaking some of the first screenshots of Ice Cream Sandwich and they’ve since come across a few apps from Google’s upcoming release. The Google Plus app found on the Verizon Ice Cream Sandwich device, which marked as v2.0 and contains numerous UI changes from the v1.0.x that is in the Market right now…………….

The movie rights to the Steve Jobs biography written by Walter Isaacson look set to be bought by Sony Pictures and Sony Pictures is believed to be in final talks to acquire the movie rights to the forthcoming and eagerly awaited Steve Jobs biography. Hollywood blog Deadline, the deal could be worth several million dollars and Sony had a big hit last year with another biopic, the Oscar-winning The Social Network, based on Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg………………..

Cooler Master has revealed its new line of power supplies, the Silent Pro Hybrid series, which is fully modular and comes with a fan controller for the PSU and up to three system fans and it’s a part of Cooler Master’s first fully modular power supply series with integrated dual 7V fan ports. Apple began taking preorders for the iPhone 4S and also revealed its next-generation handset will be sold unlocked and contract-free in November starting at $649. The unlocked iPhone 4GS will only work on supported GSM networks, but it will not work with any CDMA carriers and customers who buy an unlocked iPhone 4S will be able to use the handset internationally on GSM networks. They must obtain a micro-SIM card from a local GSM carrier to put in the handset and the contract-free iPhone 4S is available in all three standard capacities, and is priced at $649 for 16GB, $749 for 32GB and $849 for 64GB.
