Apple finally opens their mouths and spills the beans on the next generation iPhone, as the latest little rumour to hit the net on the subject is that the iPhone 5 could see an official announcement earlier that previously speculated and an inside source of the unnamed variety of course, has apparently stated that Apple is to hold a press conference on the 5th of October when they will announce the next iOS smartphone with the iPhone 5 hitting retail the week after. Apple uses the date to just unveil the new iPhone or to release it to the public and it has also been rumored that iOS 5 will be released on October 10th, which seems to fit well with the October 5th launch event……………….

MuscleNerd, the developer of the jailbreak tool Redsn0w reported that there will be a major upgrade to Redsn0w before his trip to Korea and the new features are very clear in the screenshot above, but one of the interesting thing he mentioned is that you’ll not select you .ipsw firmware anymore, which means it will be a one-click jailbreak just like geohot jailbreak tools. RedSn0w will now automatically fetch the important pieces directly from Apple and the means no more downloading huge .ipsw files like the current version. The new version will download only the essential information required to jailbreak an iOS device and this could have just been a lucky visit for a popular Apple jailbreaker, but there’s also the possibility it means that Apple is courting his talent…………….

iPhone hacker p0sixninja of Chronic Dev-team has announced that he have five bootrom exploit on the Apple A5 chip that already exist on iPad 2 and strongly expected that it will power iPhone 5. Apple discouraged jailbreaking, as it allows for the installation of third-party applications outside the official iTunes App Store and the concern is that once a phone or other device is jailbroken, it’s easier to illegally pirate applications which would otherwise be sold in the App Store, earning revenue for developers and Apple alike. The bootrom exploit are low-level bootrom ones which means that Apple won’t be able to patch them with simple iOS update…………………

Case-Mate briefly posts iPhone 5 cases based on leaked case designs, which confirms a whole new design and Case-Mate has published a page on its website with six different case designs for the new iPhone 5 and these cases suggest iPhone 5 will have tapered edges and a slim profile as well. Concrete evidence for a redesigned iPhone 5 has been surprisingly scant with case designs being essentially the only sign of such a revamp and it is difficult to point to Case-Mate’s posting as further proof of an imminent redesigned iPhone 5……………

Apple is now attempting to find a way to merge multiple Apple IDs, after developers have found having multiple sign-ins causes problems on iOS 5 and iCloud and Apple did not immediately respond to a request for official comment. The issue of using multiple Apple IDs has been a minor annoyance in the past and Apple has instituted a new policy with Automatic Downloads, which do not let you switch between logins and locks devices for 90 days to a single account. The inability to merge Apple IDs has also become a problem for iCloud developer testers who want to be able to sync content between products and it’s tough to say how many people are affected by the lack of ID merging……………….
