Few years ago, General Motors started to develop Cadillac ELR, a futuristic plug-in hybrid sports car. This Cadillac ELR was first shown as a concept car at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit as the Cadillac Converj. Then it was announced that this car will be available in 2013. Now, General Motors has confirmed that the 2014 Cadillac ELR model will be available from January 2013.
The 2014 Cadillac ELR is a two-door vehicle. The Cadillac ELR features an electric propulsion system made up of a T-shaped lithium ion battery, an electric drive unit and a four-cylinder engine-generator. The 2014 Cadillac ELR will be first unveiled at the North American International Auto Show on January 15, 2013. It will also be rolling off at the Detroit Hamtramck Assembly Plant by late 2013 accompanied by the Chevrolet Volt.
