Some days ago, we have reported about that the Android 4.0 upgrade to the HTC Desire HD has been officially canceled. Though, the smartphone’s hardware is almost similar to its newer phones that nicely runs on Ice Cream Sandwich. Previously, the reason of cancel was not clear. Now, HTC has elucidated that why the company cancelled the update of Ice Cream Sandwich to HTC Desire HD. Because of the Desire HD’s internal memory storage partition issue, the company couldn’t push for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradation.
HTC said that it would require users to re-partition their internal storage before they could perform an upgrade. While more advanced users could likely get the update up and running then HTC also said that the average users would not compromise the experience for them with an inferior update. The company added that even after installing the update, the software performed badly during testing.
