Have you upgraded to Windows 8? If you haven’t, then you should by this month. Because, Microsoft’s $40 upgrade price for Windows 8 will expire on January 31. And, you definitely won’t like the price that comes after.
When Microsoft announced the $40 upgrade offer to Windows 8, it did mention that the offer will last till end of January, 2013. Microsoft has officially reminded the users about the deadline.
The price of Windows 8 upgrade from February 1 will be $120 for previous Windows home/consumer SKUs. A Windows 8 Pro upgrade will cost $200.
The Windows 8 preview builds (Developer Preview, Consumer Preview, and Release Preview) have expired earlier this week. Users of preview builds will experience automatic shutdowns every hour until they buy Windows 8 licenses. Fortunately, they are also eligible for $40 Windows 8 upgrade.
Hence, don’t waste time if have already decided to upgrade to Windows 8.
