Windows Phone 8 Launch Event Scheduled On October 29th

When Nokia released its new flagship Lumia devices, we were able to get a few hints as to what the upcoming Windows Phone 8 may pack. However, the official launch of the new iteration of the mobile OS is still to happen and now, Microsoft has rolled out invites for the launch event scheduled on October 29th.

Windows Phone 8 launch

Apparently, the company intends to make October the focus of its releases this year. We are also hoping for the official Windows 8 to happen during the last week of this month. And alongside that, a number of hardware vendors will also launch their own Windows 8 machines.

The Windows Phone 8 launch will also be coupled with a number of hardware releases, which are due to happen immediately in the few days after the launch. For instance, Microsoft’s chief partner for the Windows Phone platform, Nokia, is planning to unveil its own Windows Phone 8 handset in the early days of November.

Similarly, HTC, another player in the Windows Phone arena, has plans of dishing out new handsets with the fresh Windows Phone 8. We can expect Microsoft to pack a number of new software features and hardware support in Windows Phone 8. That’s because such a high-level upgrade has become absolutely important and necessary for Microsoft, given the fact that Samsung and Apple have raised the bar quite high with the latest flagship releases on the Android and iOS front.
