Survey: 19% Of Consumers Interested To Buy Apple ‘iWatch’

Some analysts predicted around one and a half-year ago that Apple would launch a wrist watch soon which will be called iWatch. Lately, the speculation got a lift when new set of rumors claimed that Apple is really working on a curved glass for its smartwatch, popularly branded as iWatch. Even though the device is yet to be confirmed, a new survey has discovered that 19 percent of consumers are interested to buy Apple’s iWatch when it’ll be available.

Though Apple has revealed nothing about the iWatch, according to previous rumors, iWatch will run a version of iOS, the same software as the iPhone and iPad, allowing apps to easily run on the device. Besides, the wrist watch will use Bluetooth to communicate with a user’s iPhone.

In addition, the watch is rumored to include the ability to view high quality video streams, a backlit colored border, music browsing and phone call information. It may also include a ‘simple virtual keyboard’ and a 1.5-inch OLED display with Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated glass, which would reduce power consumption. The flexible display could deactivate the unused sections of the display when worn on smaller wrists.

Mentioning the aforementioned features, 451 Research’s ChangeWave service made a survey from March 4 to March 19 asking 1,713 people (mostly North Americans) about their interests on iWatch. According to that survey, 5 percent of consumers consider themselves “very likely” to be able to purchase a smart watch from Apple for themselves or someone else.
