Apple Launches iPhone Reuse and Recycling Program For Trade-Ins

The launch of Apple’s iPhone 5S is just around the corner. The anticipated date of the scheduled launch event is Sept 10, although Apple hasn’t confirmed it yet. Just ahead of this expected launch, Apple has now initiated the ‘iPhone reuse and recycling program’ which lets you trade-in your iPhone models for gift cards.

iPhone 5S is sure to cost heftily, much like most of the other top-end smartphones out there. Therefore, many regular iPhone users will be trying to gather up the requisite sum when the handset finally arrives. One of the best ways of doing so can be utilizing the iPhone trade-in program, in case you own an iPhone.

Of course you’ll need to have a recent iPhone model for trade-in. According to reports, Apple has started accepting models from iPhone 3G up to iPhone 5. Therefore, if you have an iPhone model which is any of the handsets in that range, you are eligible for a trade-in.

According to Apple, “iPhones hold great value. So, Apple Retail Stores are launching a new program to assist customers who wish to bring in their previous-generation iPhone for reuse or recycling. In addition to helping support the environment, customers will be able to receive a credit for their returned phone that they can use toward the purchase of a new iPhone.”

The phones that arrives through the trade-in program, we are told, will then be handed over to BrightStar. Brightstar will then take care of the environment-friendly recycling of the handsets.
