It’s rumors that never ends. Right now, a new rumor is swirling around that tech giant Apple has plans to launch an iPhone 5S along with a much low-cost iPhone in August of this year.
Chinese tech news site EMSOne has reported last Friday that a “cheap edition” of the iPhone will be built this year by both Foxconn, Apple’s usual manufacturing partner, as well as Pegatron. It’s been said that the new entry-level iPhone will come with a 4.5-inch display and a polycarbonate case. Besides, there will be dual LED flash that will be put one on top of the other on the right side of the camera lens iPhone 5S.
According to EMSOne, the cheaper iPhone will work only on China Mobile – the world’s largest carrier, while the iPhone 5S will be a “world phone” that will add compatibility with new carriers, including China Mobile. It’s been reported that there will be Qualcomm’s latest LTE chipset in cheaper iPhone. Earlier rumors say the cheaper iPhone will cost US$330 (equivalent to £220).
It was also suggested in that report that Foxconn will be the exclusive manufacturer of Apple’s next-generation “iPhone 5S.” But unfortunately, it wasn’t indicated that whether Pegatron had received any orders for Apple’s next flagship handset or not. However, according to the report, iPhone 5S will be released in August, which will feature a design similar to the current iPhone 5 but with various new color options and other tweaks.
