After a disastrous debut of the Gmail App on App Store two weeks ago, Google took it down. The app contained a bug that absolutely ruined it and disappointed the users. However, Google is now back with the Gmail app for iOS, promising it to be lot better this time.
Google initially launched the Gmail app 1.0.1 for iOS on App Store about two weeks ago. However, soon after the release, the users’ feedback showed that the application contained a bug that broke notifications to the user. Not only that, the bug also caused the app to crash. The users also complained that the app barely contained any special functionality and was simply the basic web experience in app form.

Gmail App 1.0.2:
Let’s admit that Google was really fast in responding to this problem. Not only it has taken off the flawed app, it has introduced another version of Gmail app which it claims hosts many new features and is free from any bugs. According to Gmail’s product manager, Matthew Izzat, “We’ve fixed the bug and notifications are working now and the app is back in the App Store.” Matthew also said that a lot of users have said in their feedback that they want additional features for the App such as support for multiple accounts. And he promised that Google will soon be adding these features to the app through future iterations.
For users who want to try the new Gmail App, they will require to log out of the old app and then re-install the new app. The app runs on all such devices which host iOS 4+.
