Those iPhone 3GS and 3G users who are facing battery drain problems after unlocking with ultrasn0w 1.2 for them a new cydia tweak has released to activate iPhone 3GS, 3G without stock SIM.After doing this activation, your phone will no longer look for push certificates and so your battery will not drain away like water.

Here are the steps to activate your iPhone.

Step 1: Install SAM on your unlocked iPhone 3GS or 3G.

Step 2: Now run Redsn0w 0.9.6b6.

Step 3: Click Browse and select the current firmware on your device (iOS 4.1/iOS 4.2.1). Let Redsn0w process the IPSW and identify it. Click Next.

Step 4: Let Redsn0w 0.9.6 Beta 6 prepare jailbreak data by patching the kernel and ramdisk info.

Step 5: Select ‘Deactivate’ and click Next.

Step 6: Now put your iPhone into DFU mode.

i. Hold down the POWER/SLEEP button for 3 seconds.

ii. Without releasing the POWER button, also hold the HOME button for 10 seconds.

iii. Without releasing the HOME button, release the POWER button. But KEEP holding the HOME button for another 15 seconds.

Step 7: Let Redsn0w finish the process. Once your iPhone reboots, it should be activated and you will have the full benefit of push applications and battery usage.

    i tried this, SAM says wildcard activated but the battery still gets hot and drained in minutes

    Had no Gps with 4.2.1 but downgraded to 4.1 and all is good. Seems to be 4.2.1 can’t handle ultrasn0w
