M.I.C Gadget has reported that a 64GB iPhone 4 prototype is apparently on sale in Hong Kong’s grey market. The sellers are claiming these are “engineering prototypes” snatched directly from Apple in some way, running iOS 4.1 build 8B117 and carrying a lot of XXXs where the model numbers are ID should be.
The image could be a fake, a mockup or an excellent Photoshop image, but however, the two “XX” on the back of the device signify the device as a potential Apple prototype models, during the making of an iPhone 4.
This suspicious 64GB model has started selling in Sin Tak, the greatest grey market in Hong Kong, and the sellers claimed that these are engineered models and available in small quantity. Interestingly, the back of the phone states iPhone XXGB! That reminds us the leaked prototype last year, the one Gizmodo bought it. It also states the Model no. as XXXXX, and the FCC ID as BCG-XXXXXX. On the screen, you can see is indeed a 64GB capacity and the model is 995-6049LL. And the phone is not locked!
