Sony Ericsson Device With Windows Phone 7, A Prototype From Past

Sony Ericsson once was a prominent player in the cell phone industry but like they say, it took an arrow to it’s knee. However, some old relics of the good, old days remain. This one is a phone Sony Ericsson never released. A prototype of this device, which runs on Windows Phone 7, was spotted recently. This is interesting because Ericsson never released a Windows Phone device and has been rather toying with Android. Perhaps Sony Ericsson did have plans of such a device but then trashed them?

The prototype is reported to have no bugs at all and works just fine. It features some pretty cool functions too. It has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that has been a part of many Sony Ericsson cell phones, particularly the Sony Ericsson Text Pro. There is a camera, though we don’t know the exact specs of the camera. Also, the camera is accompanied with a LED flash and it enables the user to record High Definition video. Also, we don’t exactly what Windows Phone version did it use.

Apparently, the phone works perfectly and there are no known bugs at all. But then, one wonder why did Sony Ericsson trash a phone which works just fine with Windows Phone? Apparently, Nokia was able to launch it’s Lumia series which is much, much better than this prototype that we have. And so, we think Sony Ericsson took a lesson by having a look at Lumia and then silently sticking to Android after dumping plans for a Windows Phone device.
