Surface Tablet Pre-Order Sold Out Within 24 Hour : Delivery Delayed

Microsoft is going to launch its flagship Windows 8 operating system and Surface tablets on October 26. The company decided to sell Surface tablet starting at $499 and started taking pre-orders for Surface RT at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time from October 16 at surface.com. But in less than 24 hours after Microsoft started taking pre-orders for Surface RT, the tablets went sold out. And the delivery is been delayed.

Microsoft decided to sell 32GB Surface RT tablet with no Touch cover at $499, 64GB Surface RT tablet with Touch Cover at $699. Microsoft also announced a special package of $599 where users will get the 32GB version with a Touch Cover keyboard. But within 24 hours, all the pre-orders for 32GB Surface RT tablets (without Touch Cover) went sold out. The 32GB Surface RT tablets (doesn’t matter with Touch Cover or without Touch Cover) were supposed to be available on October 26. But users visiting the site surface.com are just seeing a message – “order now for shipment within 3 weeks.”

UK customers are receiving confirmation emails stating, “The release date for the pre-order product has changed.” Orders are scheduled to ship on November 2.” Therefore, some disappointed customers lamented on Twitter about the delay in this way :

However, the more expensive 32GB model with touch cover ($599) and the 64GB model with touch cover ($699) are both still available for delivery on October 26.
