We already know that Microsoft is going to launch its flagship Windows 8 operating system and Surface tablets on October 26. Pricing details have long been in public. But Microsoft was playing hide and seek with Surface tablet pricing. Now, the prices of Surface are out in the open. And, Microsoft is taking pre-order of Surface tablet now.


Microsoft Surface Tablet

The price of Microsoft Surface tablet will be starting at $499. Microsoft has started taking pre-order for Surface RT at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on October 16 at surface.com. Users will get 32GB Surface RT tablet with no Touch cover at $499. The Touch Cover, a 3 mm thick keyboard with track-pad, will be sold separately at $120 in Black, White, Cyan, Magenta and Red color. Other tactile Type Cover keyboard will be found at $130. But, in a package of $599, users will get both the 32GB version with a Touch Cover keyboard. The price of 64GB Surface RT with Touch Cover will be $699. Microsoft will start shipping Surface tablets on October 26. This is the same time when brick-and-mortar stores will start selling the Surface RT tablet.

The Surface RT tablet runs on Nvidia Tegra 3 T30 processor and has 10.6-inch 1,280 x 720 pixels display, 2GB RAM, 720p front and back camera, 31.5 watt-hour battery, 802.11N MIMO Wi-Fi radio, Bluetooth 4.0, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, dual microphones, stereo speakers, HD-out port, full-sized USB 2.0 port, and micro SD-slot. It will take 2 hours to recharge fully, and expected to be alive for at least 8 hours on a single charge.
