Now, a very interesting infographics furnishes the details about these front end frameworks.

This infographic starts by announcing the afore-mentioned five frameworks as the top frameworks used today. Given below are some details of each of these frameworks as extracted from the infographic:

jQuery:
jQuery first came into being at BarCamp NYC in 2006. Before long, it was the most wildly popular JavaScript library and today, is being used in millions of sites. Thousands of plug-ins related to jQuery are available on the web and it is being used by some of the most notable websites in the tech world including Amazon, Google, NBC, WordPress, Microsoft, Twitter and others.

Prototype:
Prototype was created some seven years ago by Sam Stephenson. It is currently used by some 178,086 of the most visited sites on the internet. This framework is primarily meant to make dynamic web applications easier to develop and offer more than 100 plug-ins. Among the popular sites that make use of it are Apple, Los Angeles Times, Tickermaster and Hubpages.

Struts:
Struts is a popular framework that is often deployed to create front end to different Java applications. It was donated to Apache Foundation by Craig McClanahan in 2000. The popularity of the framework can be gauged from the fact that its monthly downloads clock at a count of 150,000.

Bootstrap:
This particular framework was created at Twitter in 2011. It is already very popular and is being used by 56 of the most visited sites, including that of NASA, American Income Life, Read.gov and others. The beauty of this framework is that it is tiny, and yet provides all the ready-to-use functional components that are usually required.

JavaScript MVC:
The usefulness of JavaScript MVC lies in the fact that it can be used with any web service interface as well as any server-side language. This make it flexible and thus, very useful. It was created in 2008 though a stable version became available only as late as June 2009. Currently, it is being used by 38 of the most visited websites.
