Verizon Boosts The Speeds Of Fios Plans To 300 Mbps Costing $205

Verizon has long been promising that it will be upgrading the top-tier Fios plans so that the users of such plans will be able to avail even higher speeds. It has now been revealed that the carrier has plans of taking the Fios plans to speed up to 300 MBps for download, with 65 Mbps for uploads.

The most interesting aspect is that currently, users of Fios plans have to pay $200 per month. However, the updated Fios plan with the enhanced data speeds will cost $205. Currently, the top-tier plan that Verizon is offering provides speeds of up to 150Mbps for $200. So paying just five additional dollars for nearly double the speed is definitely not a bad deal. Nonetheless, this bit of news comes from an anonymous Verizon employee and not directly from the company.

Verizon also has plans of changing the pricing and speeds of it low-tier plans. For instance, Verizon also has plans of upping the  price of its base plan of 15/5 Mbps which will now cost $64.99, an additional $10. However, the prices for the 50/25 and 150/65 Mbps plans will remain unchanged.

Moreover, the scoop from the anonymous source also suggests that Verizon may start charging an additional $5 for month-to-month plans. What may not be a very good piece of news for the users of Verizon’s top-tier plans is that they may be in for a rather expensive equipment upgrade, costing $100, sometime soon.
