We all regularly dish out product reviews and they show our opinion as to how good a given product is, in our eyes. However, when a theif breaks into a Microsoft building containinng a whole lot of Microsoft devices, yet makes away with only five Apple iPads, that may also be considered somewhat of an opinion.
According to a local newspaper in Palo Alto, a thief broke into Microsoft’s Mountain View campus. Being a primary Microsoft facility, it is to be expected that the building holds a lot of Microsoft products. It was locked down for two days on the pretext of Christmas holidays.
It was during this time that a thief broke into the building and leaving all Microsoft products untouched, made straight for five Apple iPads, taking them along with him. The report cites that no Microsoft products were reported stolen, which tells volumes about what the priority of the people is, even the most desperate ones such as the thief in question.
The stolen iPads are valued at $3,000 in total, including two iPad 2s and two iPad 3s. According to Microsoft, all employees have access to the facility through their electronic card keys. It is also unclear as to whether or not the company has video surveillance equipment in place.
If that turns out to be the case, I guess it wouldn’t take the police long to nab the culprit. Can we expect Microsoft to levy against him an additional charge of being discriminatory in stealing?
