First we saw purported image of the next iPhone. Later, analyst Peter Misek reported that initial production for iPhone 5S will begin in March 2013 and possibly it will be launched in August 2013. Seems like he might be right. Recently, Japanese blog Macotakara has reported that Foxconn has already started production of the iPhone 5S.
According to Macotakara, iPhone 5S is being produced on the same line as the iPhone 5. There is minimal changes done in iPhone 5S. On the other side, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities has mentioned that besides unveiling iPhone 5S in June, Apple will also unveil a new lower cost iPhone and iOS 7; all the devices will be released in July. That’s not all. The iMore blog has predicted that Apple will release the iPhone 5S in August.
Macotakara might be right as it has also reported that Japan’s largest cellular provider NTT DoCoMo has cut down its orders of Android smartphones for the coming fall season which hints that the company might finally carry the iPhone.
At present people have speculation that iPhone 5S will come with a faster A7 processor, improved camera, ‘Smart Flash’ and a fingerprint scanner. Apple’s plans are always subject to change, but it appears that we’ll see the successor to the iPhone 5 and maybe even a totally new iPhone this year. But we assume that whatever Apple unveils, it will unveil that at WWDC, its annual developers conference, which will be held in June.
