However, Nokia seems all set to reverse this and emerge once again as a major player in the smartphone world. According to IHS iSuppli Mobile & Wireless Communication Service, Windows Phone, currently touted by Nokia, will be once again on the 2nd rank worldwide in 2015. The analysis roots this rather ambitious plan for Nokia on Nokia Lumia 900. According to Wayne Lam, a senior analyst at IHS, Nokia Lumia 900 was a huge sensation at CES 2012. It had already captured the attention of many.
Wayne believes that this device by Nokia comes with some very good specs which puts it at par with some excellent Android devices. Being already back in the competition, Nokia may build on the success of Lumia 900 to construct a helpful Windows Phone ecosystem in collaboration with Microsoft. And this may definitely spell success for the company in the coming days, putting it at number 2 by 2015.
Another senior analyst at IHS believes that Nokia has finally realized that it needs to succeed in North America if it wants to be a global player again. Nokia has traditionally flunked in North America but the new Nokia Lumia 900 has been designed especially in perspective of a North American consumer. This is apparent from the fact that Lumia 900 supports LTE 4G standard. And with the details about it revealed by Nokia at CES 2012, this device has every potential to succeed in this region. It comes with a 12-megapixel camera and an AMOLED touch-screen display.
Once Nokia succeeds in building a fan-following in North America, the path to success will be a smooth one. Nokia is set to make the first launch of this device in North America which shows its ambitions to score a fair market in this region before it’s too late.
