Motorola is reported to be readying a 2GHz smartphone for release by the end of the year.
Most current phones – including the iPhone 4 – top out at 1GHz, making this potentially the fastest phone on the market, with improved graphics, games and video chat.
The exec went on to say that it would be Android-based, and would include an Nvidia Tegra-based graphics processor with full Flash 10.1 hardware acceleration and gyroscope.
The display – with ‘HD screen resolution’, will support 720p output, and there’ll be a camera with a resolution of at least five megapixels.
Speaking at a meeting of the Executives Club of Chicago, Sanjay Jha, CEO of Motorola’s consumer business and mobile devices division, said the ‘superphone’ would be in stores in time for the holiday season.
He added that he believed that most corporate workstations would be replaced by smartphones in the next two years.
