G.Skill has announced an updated SSD line, the Phoenix II. The new Phoenix II is going to use the latest SandForce SF-2000 series controller and the latest Micron 25nm NAND Flash.
G.Skill Phoenix II SSD is powered by SandForce SF-2000 controller and claimed speed read and write reaches of up to 550 MB/s and 500 MB/s, respectively.
G.Skill will offer the Phoenix II in capacities of 60GB, 120GB and 240GB, meaning they’re enabling RAISE for extra endurance and performance, just like the Vertex 3. Patriot has opted to go the other way, disabling RAISE in their Wildfire SSD series in exchange for more drive capacity.
Apparently, like most modern SSD, it is TRIM supports that designed to extend the drive life and optimize performance.
G.Skill Phoenix II solid state drive will be available global in middle of Q2 2011, but no word on pricing yet.
