Ubisoft has started to wrap things up, and giving the last-minute touches to its upcoming game – Watch Dogs. The game was first revealed at the E3 2012.Watch Dogs is speculated to be Ubisoft’s next franchise game series; just like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. The game is based on a fresh storyline and concept – hacking, surveillance and information warfare. Ubisoft Montreal is in the charge of development of the game. The release date is not yet confirmed, but it is ensured that the game will hit the market next year.
There are lots of surprises in the game’s storyline and gameplay. Players will take control of an ‘anti-hero’ called Aiden Pearce (voiced by Noam Jenkins) – a very intelligent hacker who has set out on his quest against city’s information system. Aiden can hack into the city’s central operating system (CtOS) and can take control of any system connected to it. He picks up information on his victims and demographic of the victim’s location from the information networking system of the city.
The game location covers Chicago and Illinois. The game-play video shown in the E3 2012 reveals some excellent elements about the game. Players can jam cellphone signals, trap phone calls, manipulate traffic lights, and so on to retrieve information on target or create diversion before strike. The game is full of combats utilizing a combination of stealth, free-running and cover-based third-person shooting system.
Ubisoft Montreal began development work of Watch Dogs in 2010. However, an official announcement was made only this year.
