With the wild success of Angry Birds, Rovio has truly shot to fame. And an even greater achievement on the part of the developer is that it has maintained that fame by constantly rolling out newer seasons, versions and episodes of the game. And at the same time, Rovio has been trying to tie up the iconic ‘Angry Birds’ to as many platforms as possible. Now, it has been reported that Rovio is more than ready to bring Angry Birds Space to PS Vita.
Recently, Rovio officially launched the popular game on Facebook and has since been working hard on taking it to other platforms too. Now, the Chief Marketing Office of Rovio has officially stated that Rovio would definitely want its game on handheld devices, including PS Vita but that the final decision will of course depends on how Sony responds to it.
According to him, “We’ll have our games on the 3DS pretty soon. The Vita we haven’t decided what to do about yet, but of course we want to be on all the screens, so let’s see how the Vita does in the market. And of course, always when working with these console guys it’s not that we can decide, it’s really if Sony wants to have Angry Birds on Vita. It’s more up to them than to us.”
Although the final decision will indeed rest with Sony, it seems that Rovio is also playing safe and first wants Vita to reach sufficient market penetration before Rovio can formally ask Sony about it.
Angry Birds Space is scheduled to debut on March 22 and it is being hoped that the new release from the game developer would be a booming success, quite like the earlier versions and releases of Angry Birds.
