Sony PlayStation has been down some hours ago. It’s not clear exactly for what region it’s down. Sony PlayStation 3 owners in multiple regions (including North America, Europe, and Australia) are facing the inability to sign into the PlayStation Network online gaming service, corrupted user data and inability to play some games online or off. There’s no ETA on when things will get back to normal.
An user on a PlayStation forum says:
At least if it’s all of us it isn’t just a console issue. Just wondering how long it’l be. I HAVEN’T PLAYED GAMES FOR HALF HOUR NOW. I’M GOING TO KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
The problems are accompanied by the 8001050F error code. When they try to load up certain games — including the just-released Heavy Rain — they receive the error code and the following message: “Registration of the trophy information could not be completed.”
According to one user over at the official PlayStation boards, the error does not prevent him from using the Internet via his PS3, but logins have become nigh impossible. Several other users chimed in after that comment to report identical problems.
Engadget updated:
Sony’s tweeted that it’s “looking into it,” and our boys at Joy say that owners of original PS3s are seeing their clocks reset and even data loss in some cases. We’ll keep you updated.

I’ve been unable to sign in (ps3 browser is ok) for over 24 hours now. Error 80710092. I’m in Ireland. I’ve only had the PS3 for 3 weeks – is the PS3 network often this dodgy? It says “check the status of the SCE website for your region” – No www address given to check or even what SCE stands for. Thanks for that advice Sony, – might as well have told me to check that the resonance of the flux capacitor was within tolerance…

Down here in Atlanta, Georgia. I’m not sure how long its been. At least a couple of days. Also, I went to Netflix and it deactivated my PS3! I have to go through all that activation crap again. I just got Pain this weekend and can’t play multiplayer on it.

hi! Biver_ here. -my ps3 had problems 4 a long time now. it started with update1.39 for ps-home.messed up my system-settings.date-clock and keyboardcountry.now i cant even enter my own flats.the ps3 frezes up with HDD indicator on B4 furniture pops up. – Grrrr………….. ^^ since then freezing and los of connection became more and more often. 2day (21-04-2011) i cant log on.no matter how many times i try. – not even when trying to set up a new acount. how come : mental ill people find it amusing to hack and destroy things for others? a really sick and bizar form of fun. i hope they get their sleep desturbed by their own consience.
