Apple has released iAd Producer, a Mac program that allows developers (and non-developers alike) to create iAds using a simple point-and-click interface.iAd Producer makes it easy for you to design and assemble high-impact, interactive content for iAd. iAd Producer automatically manages the HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript behind your iAd to make creating beautiful, motion-rich iAd content as easy as point and click.

The application has a variety of templates to choose from, along with built-in animations and components. The ads can then be simulated on a Mac or iOS device.

Rumors have persisted that Apple would release some type of HTML 5 authoring tool for a while now, perhaps a replacement for iDVD as part of iLife or an extension to iWork’s pages. At the moment, the iAds program is only available to select companies, but the release of this program hints at a public release.

Only a member of the iOS Developer Program can download iAd Producer.
