Apple’s iPhone 4S now available for pre-order via AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and Apple.com and the 16GB device is selling for $199.99, the 32GB is $299.99, and the 64GB is $399.99, all with a two-year service contract. Now Apple has sold out of its U.S. iPhone 4S pre-order allotment and customers who are interested in ordering an iPhone 4S from the Apple Online Store can still order, but the shipments are said to arrive in 1-2 weeks…………….
The iPhone 4S is now available to pre-order from the online Apple Store and new orders for the iPhone 4S made through Apple‘s U.S. online store are now listed with shipping estimates of 1-2 weeks, indicating that the door has closed on the opportunity for customers to pre-order the device through Apple for launch day delivery. Demand for the iPhone 4S appears to be very strong with AT&T having reported that it alone had taken 200,000 orders in the first 12 hours of availability. Apple‘s online store struggled to keep up with the traffic as pre-orders went live with company eventually resorting to offering order temporary reservations as connections to carriers’ systems to verify eligibility and service plans became overwhelmed. Users who received reservations from Apple in the first few hours of availability have until 5:00 PM Pacific Time on Saturday to return and complete their orders before losing their priority standing. Pre-ordering is now available in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and the United Kingdom through Apple’s website. Additionally, carriers in these countries are offering pre-orders through their individual websites. In the US, the iPhone 4S is available for order right now through AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and for the first time, Sprint. Pre-orders placed in time through Apple will be delivered on the October 14 release date. Sales in stores will also begin on this date. Unlocked (carrier-free) models are coming in November, according to Apple.
