Pod2g Working On iOS 5.1 Jailbreak

Pod2g is a well known  name in the iOS community. He is the hacker who has been actively involved in some of the most important jailbreaking tools.  It was precisely his hard work that paid off and resulted in an untethered jailbreak for for iOS 5.0.1. Now, Pod2g has tweeted that he is working on finding the vulnerabilities of the new version of iOS, namely iOS 5.1.

Apple rolled out this new version of iOS during the launching event of the new iPad. iOS 5.1 was released for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Apple TV devices. Naturally, the users who upgraded to iOS 5.1 had their jailbreaks void and now required a new software which can let them jailbreak their iOS 5.1 devices.

iPhone-Dev Team has already released a tool to accomplish tethered jailbreak on non-A5 iOS devices. This essentially excludes iPad 2, iPhone 4S and now the new iPad. It is apparently a jailbreak for these devices, both tethered as well as untethered, that Pod2g seems to be working on. If you have already upgraded to iOS 5.1 and use a non-A5 Apple device, you may want to use this tethered jailbreak tool.

However, if you use an A5 device, it’s better that you wait till Pod2g solves this riddle before you upgrade to the new iOS version.
