At a recent Nokia Symbian X7 event in Hong Kong, a couple of unlikely visitors showed up on the scene and new X7 is having is debut in Hong Kong with a little help from some Transformers friends Optimus Prime and Starscream. The phone in Optimus Prime’s hand is the Nokia X7, a Symbian Anna entertainment-centric smartphone that was just launched in Hong Kong and Nokia X7 offers a sumptuous array of technology, in fact in includes almost every feature and function that is currently available within a mobile phone and also what is not included is probably is not worth having anyway. It is a compact unit which packs a real punch in the technology stakes with dimensions of 119 mm x 62 mm wide whilst being 11 mm thick, it manages to include a high-quality camera, smart phone technology as well as impressive touch screen capability. The display screen is a 4.0 inch AMOLED capacitive display screen which also provides touch screen capability. Outstanding colour reproduction is facilitated by the fact that it displays 16 million colours within a pixel screen which has a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. In conjunction with scratch resistant gorilla glass, the handset also provides proximity and accelerometer sensors as means of automating various tasks.
The unit comes with a multitude of connectivity options which include class 33 versions of both EDGE and GPRS, in addition to web access by virtue of either the included Wi Fi connection, enabling access to the net via available hotspots, or its own alternative, the HSDPA connection, providing speeds of up to 10.2 Mbps. Additional connectivity is provided by virtue of the blue tooth and micro-USB connections, whilst a micro SD card slot is included which enables the user to increase the memory capacity of the handset from its 8 GB, to 32 GB. The handset also comes with satellite navigation, with the added bonus of A-GPS support. The unit comes with a raft of entertainment style features which include a stereo FM radio with RDS, an MP4/MP3 multimedia player, a digital compass, several games as well as an 8.0 megapixel camera that offers fixed focus, face detection as well as geo-tagging and a dual LED flash, as well as providing the means to record video at 720 pixels and 25 frames per second. The Nokia X7 Silver is an engaging and no doubt popular choice of colour option, which provides the user with alternative choices when it comes to this particularly popular handset. The handset itself utilises a 680 MHz processor in conjunction with the Symbian operating system, both of which provide a reliable and stable system.
