Nieuwe Heren, by Erik De Nijs and Tim Smit, has designed an innovative men’s jacket that can detect and wear off pollution. The pollution detecting jacket, branded as Aegis Parka, detects common air pollutants including CO2 and warns the jacket wearer about the pollution level. The jacket can also improve air quality around the wearer and supply clean air with a built-in-respirator.
Aegis Parka will help the wearer to keep secure from various pollutants. The jacket has a sensor. The jacket using the sensors can detect six most common urban pollutants alcohol, Benzene, smoke, NH3, Nox and CO2. It also warns the wearer by illuminating the embedded LEDs when pollution reach a dangerous level. The more the LEDs illuminate, the worse the air quality is.
The jacket has a built-in-respirator with an active carbon filter that supplies fresh oxygen. In addition, the Jacket is treated with TiO2 (Titanium dioxide) solution that cleanses the environment owing to its photo-catalytic properties and provides a positive balance to the air quality. The inside of the Parka is constructed from Schoeller® high-tech fabrics Ceraspace™. Schoeller Ceraspace is created out of ceramic particles and Phase Change Materials (PCM™) that keep the garment’s temperature cool and comfortable for the wearer.
Don’t forget to tell us, what do you think about the jacket?
