Yes, its just like that. Install this Google Developed Extention “Cause”, open more tab, at the end of the day you could donate to 1 of the 5 seletced charity depending on the number of whole day opened tabs. Open 10 Tab and donate 1 tree and read rest of the details inside.

I always have a lot of tabs open and now probably most of people always have a lot tabs open. For me its like I always have over 30+ tabs opened each time in each one of 3 running browser. Now peopel checks mail in live time, stay connected on facebook, search stuff, shop online, enjoy entertainment stuff and lot sting simulteniously. So Tabs is must. So open as many tabs you want and get reward for that. Its just like that.
The charities involved:
# The Nature Conservancy,
# Charity: water,
# Doctors Without Borders,
# Un Techo para mi Pais and
# Room to Read.
Here’s Google’s breakdown of how much you have to browse to donate to the various charities:
10 tabs = 1 tree planted
10 tabs = 1 book published and donated
25 tabs = 1 vaccination treatment provided
100 tabs = 1 square foot of shelter built
200 tabs = 1 person’s clean water for a year
The initiative will run for five days from December 15 to the 19. Google says they’ll donate up to a million dollars on behalf of the extension’s users.
What you have to do?
- Get the Chrome for a Cause extension
- Browse the web with Chrome between December 15 – 19
- At the end of each day, you’ll be prompted to click on the extension to submit your tabs
- Choose which charity you’d like to support with that day’s tabs — you can always support the same charity, or pick a different one each day
Sarah Nahm, Product Marketing Manager at Google Chrome Team mentioned that in next week they we’ll be sharing the details of the good deeds you’ve enacted.
