37 year old Marissa Mayer (Full name Marissa Ann Mayer) joined Google in 1999 as a 20th employee, shortly after achieving a Master degree in Computer Science from Stanford University. She was the company’s first female engineer. After working with Google 13 years, Mayer was appointed as a President and CEO of Yahoo! on July 16, 2012. The interesting news is, she revealed the news to her Google colleagues just 30 minutes before the Yahoo board announced the news publicly.

Google+ Made 400 Million Sign-Ups Just In One Year, Active Users 100 Million

On Monday, September 17, Google announced a new milestone for its Google+ social networking platform. Google’s senior vice president of engineering Vic Gundotra, revealed that Google+ has made 400 million sign-ups just in one year and among those sign-ups, the number of monthly active users is 100 million. The news comes at the one year mark of the social media’s debut to the public.

Google Playing Evil With Acer Over Android

Taiwanese manufacturer of phones and PCs, Acer, planned to hold a joint press conference with China-based Alibaba Group in Shanghai on September 13, Thursday to debut CloudMobile A800, a smartphone which runs on Aliyun operating system developed by Alibaba. But the press conference was canceled before it started. Why the press conference cancelled? To answer the question Alibaba replied that Google threatened to pull its Android support from Acer if Acer pursued Alibaba’s Aliyun operating system. Interesting thing is Acer did not confirm the claim.
