Smartphone Market Grows 79.7% Year Over Year In First Quarter Of 2011

The worldwide smartphone market has grown 79.7% year-over-year with smartphone vendors shipping a total of 99.6 million units in in the first quarter of 2011, market research firm IDC reports and Nokia is still the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer market share, its decline has been amazingly fast.Samsung shipments rise 350 percent and has more than quadrupled its output to 10.8 million shipments in the quarter.The other big gainer is Apple, with 10 million more iPhones shipped, but the truth is that all the top five vendors are showing double-digit growth and IDC has also released data for Western Europe that shows Nokia has lost the top spot both in terms of smartphones…………

Will Apple Beat Nokia in Smartphone Manufacturers’ Competition?

The American company IDC has published a report about the most important smartphone manufacturers worldwide. Apple ranks second in this top, just behind Nokia. But there is only a slight difference between the two companies since Nokia has sold 5, 5 million smart phones more than Apple. Last year Nokia lost 15% of their market share and this percentage was equally divided among Apple, Samsung, HTC and the other manufacturers. As for Apple, they increased their market share by 3% and sold 10 million smart phones more compared to the same period of the last year.

Apple ranks 35 in Forbes’ top 500

The well-known financial publication Forbes has launched its top 500, an annual top which includes the first 500 American companies that reported the biggest revenues. Apple has managed to climb 21 spots and now ranks 35 after they have reported revenues amounting to 65 billion dollars. This is a huge sum of money and equals the company’s financial reserve which has increased in recent years due to the iDcevices’ success. They have been the sales engine and pushed the company forward.
