Apple is currently the second-leading PC vendor globally. HP has the top slot right now. But with the sales of tablets like iPad 2, Kindle Fire and Barnes & Nobles Nook Tablet, HP may be in for a tough competition in the coming days.
According to market research firm Canalys, next year, the sale of personal computers will continue to soar. With the advent of tablet computers, there has been a major boom in the sales of personal computers. And with a number of companies in the competition, coming up with better models and lower prices, this trend will continue into the future.
Apple turning the tables:
From last year to this year, Apple’s share in the PC market has surged from 9 percent to 15 percent. And this will continue to increase, says Canalys, given the anticipation that is surrounding the expected release of iPad 3 next year. On a similar note, Amazon may also be able to increase it’s market share of PCs next year, it’s Kindle Fire being a major success in this quarter of 2011.
According to analysts, Android may have been able to grab a few additional percentages of the tablet market had the Ice Cream Sandwich being released on Android tablets. As it is, this latest Android OS isn’t expected on Android tablets for another few months, so Android tablets will continue with their rather lousy sales.
According to projected stats, the total sales of PC will increase to 415 million next year. And if Apple is able to launch what the world is expecting it to launch, another awesome device in the form of iPad 3, this will let Apple grab the top slot of PC vendors.
